Iraida lives at home with her husband and 4 children. They are a strong and resilient family who through their faith have been able to overcome many hardships. The family moved to the US from Venezuela years ago to receive better medical care for their 11 year old daughter Isabella, after major complications happened when Isabella was born due to medical malpractice and her suffering from cerebral hypoxia. Because of this Isabella became permanently disabled shortly after being born, and Iraida and her husband did everything they could to take care of Isabela and their other children through the years. Iraida spends every day taking care of Isabela and making sure she is comfortable, showering her with love and care. Because of Isabela’s disability, Iraida is not able to work because she requires 24 hour care. They have gone through many hardships, and the family has been going through a lot emotionally, and financially things are very tight because they are just relying on her husbands income to stay afloat.
Catholic Charities paid their light bill, a medical bill, and also provided them with food gift cards.
We also partnered with the IFS Group (integrated facilities services) who adopts families through us every year, and they will be delivering Christmas gifts for the family.
